The Peace Haven Dolphins is a youth swim team representing the Peace Haven Pool in the Old Sherwood Forest neighborhood. Our team includes swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18. We encourage good sportsmanship, individual improvement, and the enjoyment of competing as a team. Most of all, we want everyone to have fun!
The Peace Haven Dolphins are one of 19 teams within the Greater Forsyth Swim League (GFSL). Our annual summer swim meet schedule includes 3 home and 3 away swim meets against one other GFSL team. And the GFSL hosts a Finals meet at the end of the season at the Greensboro Aquatic Center for the season’s top performers from all 19 teams.
Our team colors are Royal Blue with a Kelly Green complement. We encourage swimmers to compete in swimwear that coordinates with our colors, though it is not required. All team members will receive a Peace Haven Dolphins t-shirt before the season. Wear this to all swim meets for team unity!
Swimmers compete in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly (ages 6 & under Freestyle and Backstroke only) and a full range of events. To become a Dolphin, you must be between the ages of 5 and 18 (by May 31) and be a member of the Peace Haven Pool. You will be required to swim the length of the pool (25 meters). Swim meet competitions are broken into gender and age categories and are as follows: 6 and Under Girls; 6 and Under Boys; 7-8 Girls; 7-8 Boys; 9-10 Girls; 9-10 Boys; 11-12 Girls; 11-12 Boys; 13-14 Girls; 13-14 Boys; 15-18 Girls; and 15-18 Boys. The Dolphins practice and compete at the Peace Haven Pool. We ask that swimmers attend the full week of practice throughout the season.
