Hello Members:

We are so excited to start a new summer season at Peace Haven Civic Association. Many members have pitched in to get the facilities ready and the pool opening day is coming this weekend!

I’m writing on behalf of the Board to share some important information and give an update to what has been going on.

During the off season, we have:

  • Renovated the pool restrooms including new paint, plumbing, flooring, toilet partitions, lighting, sinks and counters.
  • Updated and cleaned the shelter restrooms and the new snack shack location (now located in the picnic shelter).
  • Refinished flooring in the picnic shelter.
  • Purchased some new tables and chairs to keep a constant update of pool furniture.
  • Pressure washed all buildings and pool deck before opening day.
  • Updated the landscaping including plants, grass, pinestraw and mulch around the entire facility.
  • New nets and benches for the tennis courts.
  • Purchased new lane lines for the swim team.
  • Purchased a new pool sign by the entrance.

The pool will open on Sat, May 27, 2023 for all members. Hours for opening weekend and for the first two weeks while public school is still in session will vary. Please check the website for the most up-to-date hours. https://peacehavenpool.com/hours/

There is a slightly different layout this year. We will have the lifeguard office at the main gate. Members still need to stop at the large window to check themselves in on the tablet. A lifeguard will be there to enforce check in, but please make sure your family members do this. Members will be able to also check in a guest and automatically charge the guest fee to their account. Please make sure to review the “How To Guide” to know how to navigate the Self Check In Feature.  We will also have some printed instructions by the kiosk to help everyone get used to the system.

The snack shack is now relocated to the picnic shelter! They have a lot of great snacks there including some exciting new items. Check it out!

Lap swim is available for adults in the mornings all summer long. Hours, policies and registration are available on the website. https://peacehavenpool.com/about/pool-rules/#tab-id-3

We are fortunate to have so many members in the Association. We are limited to 300 families per the by-laws and we are nearly full. If you have any friends still looking for a summer membership, they can contact us on the website to get added. But hurry, because the availability likely won’t last long.

Because we have so many members, we have to make sure everyone knows and respects all facility rules so that every member can have a fun and safe summer. Rules are also posted on the website (https://peacehavenpool.com/about/pool-rules/). I’ll point out two in particular for parents to make sure children can follow:

  • All trash needs to be picked up and thrown away from the pool deck and the basketball court when you leave the area.
  • Games like “tennis baseball” are allowed on the lower tennis court, but only if there are not any other tennis players waiting to use a court.

This summer we have plans for fun social events on Memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor day. We are also looking into events like Adult Swim Nights, Movies at the Pool, and live music. There is still time to register for the Memorial Day Cook Out! (deadline is Friday 5/26) Click HERE to RSVP.

The pool is fortunate to have many sponsors this year. These businesses are friends of the community and their partnership is a real blessing. Please take a moment to look for their banners around the pool or on the swim team shirts. And watch our Facebook page for periodic shout-outs! https://www.facebook.com/PeaceHavenPool

Lastly, if you see any of the Board members around, please thank them. They volunteer many hours throughout the year and care deeply about making this association safe and fun for all. Please feel free to contact me or any of the board members with questions. I look forward to seeing you this summer!
