The Jimmy Pirkle Award is an annual Peace Haven Pool recognition created in memory of Jimmy Pirkle. The award will honor individuals who go above and beyond in service, volunteerism, and community involvement, reflecting the same spirit of generosity and dedication that Jimmy brought to Peace Haven Pool.

Created in memory of Jimmy Pirkle, the award honors the spirit of volunteerism, dedication, and care that helped make Peace Haven Pool such a special place for members and families. Through his support of swim meets and holiday events, and through countless behind-the-scenes contributions, Jimmy embodied the sense of community this award seeks to recognize.

Eligibility

Eligible nominees may include:

• Member Employees (guards, coaches, attendants)
• Member Volunteers (committee members, current and former board members, event volunteers)
• Other members who make significant contributions to Peace Haven Pool
• Nominees do not need to hold a formal position to be considered.
• Previous recipients remain eligible for future consideration but may not receive the award in consecutive years.

Award Criteria

Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Service that strengthens the Peace Haven Pool community
• Dedication to making members and families feel welcome
• Consistent support of pool programs, events, and activities
• Leadership through service, kindness, and example
• Positive influence on members and families
• Contributions that go above and beyond normal expectations
• Both visible and behind-the-scenes contributions should be considered.

Nomination Process

• Any current Peace Haven Pool membership household may submit one nomination per year.
• Self-nominations will not be accepted.
• Nominations must include specific examples of the nominee’s service, impact, or contributions to Peace Haven Pool
